Fighting Fifty has just celebrated its 5th birthday! In November 2011 when I decided I was fed up with how older women were spoken to, I could never have envisaged where Fighting Fifty would be today. At that time, the site was just an idea in my head and I had absolutely no experience of running a website. I didn’t even know what a blogger was! Hard to imagine that 5 years after the site launched, it would be recognised as a reliable authority on keeping well and looking good over 50.
Along with the lovely birthday wishes came some very exciting news. Not only had I been nominated for the Beauty Influencer Awards 2017, I’m actually a finalist! The category I have been shortlisted for is, Best Beauty Vlogger. I’m sure that a woman of 57 doesn’t spring to mind when people think of beauty vloggers, most are in their twenties. So, I’m not sure if I can compete with the twenty somethings, but I would love to be in with a chance.
