To find out more I go behind the scenes on their latest shoot

I have long been a fan of Emma Hardie and her skincare range.   Emma was a huge inspiration to me when I was launching Fighting Fifty and the first person to join our expert panel.

Her knowledge about skin and how to treat it, combined with her passion for effective yet uncomplicated skincare is infectious, I could easily spend hours listening and learning from Emma.

From her own experience of self-healing, Emma aims to equip us all with the products and techniques to repair our skin at home; this has led her to create the latest Vitamin C products aimed at counteracting the visible signs of ageing.

I was invited to learn more about the new products, take an exclusive behind the scenes look at the latest Emma Hardie shoot and, to record my views on the range.

On a bleak afternoon in London, I stepped out of the torrential rain and into the brightly lit studio.  There I found women in different stages of pampering, some enjoying facials, others having their makeup beautifully applied and hair blow dried.  The Emma Hardie team were giving women the chance to experience the products first hand before being asked how they made them feel.  We all know that confidence is key as you get older, the Amazing Face products are created with this in mind, you don’t only want to look good, you want to feel good as well.

Hair, makeup, lights, camera, action!

Why is Vitamin C good for the skin?

Vitamin C is good for both repairing and protecting the skin.  As a powerful antioxidant, it helps to combat oxidative stress caused by free radicals which have the ability to attack healthy cells and change their composition.  Once the cells are damaged the ageing process starts, collagen breaks down, and skin sags and loses firmness and tone.

Vitamin C is necessary to produce and maintain collagen, it can address brown spots and pigmentation, reduce sun damage, inflammation and irritation.  In time skin becomes firmer and smoother.

Vitamin C is notoriously unstable and if not correctly formulated will quickly oxidise, the new products from Emma Hardie have been formulated in Switzerland where they assure me they have been able to overcome this.

Emma Hardie Vit C Intense Daily Serum

This water based advanced treatment serum is silky and light yet nourishing, its powerful ingredients include 2% Vitamin C in a time release delivery system, Vitamin B3 which helps address discoloration and works as an anti-inflammatory reducing redness.  Red Algae helps to reverse UV damage making the skin appear more luminous and healthy.  The serum is delicately fragranced with essential oils of Roman Chamomile, Rose Geranium, Peppermint, Lavender and Sweet Orange.
