Réduit Uni is a tiny palm-sized home-use beauty device set to revolutionise how we care for our skin and hair. Réduit, which means ‘reduced’ in French, is the result of 20 years of Swiss research into creating a new approach to skin and haircare. One without waste, minimal packaging, faster absorption and a streamlined routine, but none the less efficient.
Sounds too good to be true, you might think so. Before I tried the Réduit Uni I was sceptical.
Réduit offer a selection of small handheld devices that all use the brand’s clever skin and hair pod technology. These small cartridges filled with the finest active ingredients click into the devices and use magnetic misting technology, and ultrasonic diffusion, to deliver a protective layer deep into the skin. The ultra-fine mist creates droplets 50 times smaller than traditional topicals and can easily and quickly be absorbed by your skin and hair.
The clever Réduit pods can treat skin concerns from fine lines to protecting the skin from city pollution. There are 24 targeted Smartpods some of which have LED light to help boost skin and hair condition.
Uni is the entry level device from the Réduit range that fits comfortably into the palm of your hand. It’s created from medical grade silicone and polycarbonates and feels well-made and robust. Twist open the case and remove the device and charge using the supplied USB lead. A full charge gives you three months of daily use. Once charged, drop in your chosen Smartpod and press to start the device. Move the device around your face and neck moving to a different area when prompted. For your hair, move the Réduit Uni over and under your hair parting it as you mist. The device switches off after one minute, conserving battery life and avoiding product waste. If you are in a rush, simply press the on button twice to boost the mist.
When I was invited to trial the Réduit Uni I wasn’t expecting to enjoy using it as much as I have. I was supplied with the Uni in Forest Green and three Smartpods, Precision Shield and Pearl Diffusion for the skin and Shine Definition for the hair. I loved them all so much and found them really beneficial to my skin, so I ordered the Ageless Mist Skinpod straight away.
Using the Réduit Uni and Skinpods is quite different to using jars or pumps of serums. The texture is finer and the product sinks immediately into the skin. Your skin feels hydrated without any residue. This does take a little getting used to if you normally see and feel products sitting on your skin. After you’ve used the Smartpods a few times and seen the effects on your skin, you won’t want to go back to dipping your fingers into jars!
I won’t be giving up all my other skincare just yet, but I have incorporated the Réduit Uni and the Skin and Hairpods into my daily routine. I feel it’s an added bonus and helps lock other products into the skin.
Rather than being a gimmick, the Réduit Uni and the Smartpod system is a serious step towards reducing wastage. The Smartpods take up much less room and can be recycled after use. Each Skinpod is equivalent to 50ml of a traditional product and offer many of the active ingredients found in your usual skincare. Add in the effects of LED light and you have a salon worthy treatment each time you apply your skincare.
If you want to treat yourself to an even more stylish device, there is a range to choose from. Entry level starts with the Uni and top of the range is the Réduit Spa Gold which is created using premium materials for professional treatments. In my opinion, the Uni works so efficiently that I would spend my money on Smartpods instead. And don’t worry about how to dispose of the Smartpods, Réduit has thought of that as well. Simply return the pods for recycling and exchange for a free product.
Having shopped around for Skinpods and Hairpods, the Réduit website has the best offers. The pods vary in price dependant on ingredients and whether they have the LED light facility. The Réduit website also has some great offers on value and starter sets.
Réduit Uni may be small in size, but it sure knows how to pack a punch when it comes to caring for your skin and hair. This clever at home-use beauty device will streamline your beauty routine and keep your skin and hair looking and feeling great at home, and when travelling. Just imagine taking one small device and a handful of Smartpods for all your skin and hair care while on holiday, that really is Réduit.
