They say that people notice your eyes first and then your face

In my experience they notice your roots first!  They might then move on to your eyes, and when they do you get that look of, oh dear love, haven’t you let yourself go!

The weeks between appointments with my colourist seem to fly past; by the time the three weeks are up I have a line of silver tinsel that any Christmas tree would be proud of.  I’m not ready (not sure I ever will be) to give in and go grey, I’m holding in there with regular touch ups, but by the time week three comes along I need a little help with the grey matter.

My little helper is Bumble and bumble Hair Powder, which is a coloured dry shampoo.  There are four colour ways, Brown, Black, Blondish and White.  They are designed to absorb oil and refresh without washing, extend a blow dry and give volume.  Forget all that, they cover pesky grey hair, which for me is a godsend.

Don’t follow the instructions because you will end up painting your scalp, which will probably look worse than the grey, and will end up with colour all over the bathroom.  Get a clean no too large blusher brush, and spray directly onto the brush, do this over the sink so you can easily wash any residue away. Then quickly sweep the brush along the regrowth either side of your parting.  You might have to do this a couple of times to get maximum coverage.

Ta dah roots are far more subtle, the twinkle, twinkle has been tamed and people start looking you in the eye again.  The colour doesn’t transfer but is easily washed out, I’ve tried other root touch-up products but nothing works as well as the Bumble and bumble Hair Powder.

My absolute saviour!
