Saint and Sofia are the sustainable fashion label that create stylish, comfortable clothes for women over 50.
If you are a regular reader of Fighting Fifty, you will know how much I like wearing clothes from Saint and Sofia. Not a week goes by without me wearing a pair of their super comfortable Runway Pants, I have them in all colour ways! One of my favourite summer dresses and skirt are also Saint and Sofia. I like how they made clothes to last.
Saint and Sofia are an independent brand that take sustainability seriously. Their garments are designed in their hometown, London, and created exclusively in family owned factories throughout Europe. They use natural or recycled fabrics and always use biodegradable packaging. They even give back to charities, supporting Smartworks and women’s shelters.
Whether it’s the pandemic that’s made me rethink my clothes purchases or maybe it’s getting older, but I now carefully consider what I buy. I think about how and where the piece was made, how it’s going to work within my wardrobe, and whether I can wear it in different ways. Comfort is also a major factor when I am choosing clothes. I want to look good but also feel good, and for me that means clothes that I can put on and forget about. I want my clothes to last years and not seasons, I want to be able to enjoy wearing them time and time again.
Saint and Sofia kindly asked me if I would like to review items from their Spring ’23 Tidal Edit. Obviously I was thrilled, and with the above in mind, I chose two items that I knew would be loved, worn again and again. And would work well with other clothes I have, and of course, be comfortable!
Oh, how I love this dress! The Olivia dress was so comfortable from the moment I put it on. It’s the perfect weight for spring, created from 100% viscose that is soft and warm, with a flattering neckline and concealed zip. It has pockets! And sleeves that are the ideal length. You can wear them pulled up a little to create a billowy three-quarter sleeve or pulled down for a smarter look.
The swishy skirt and nipped in waist, created with a coordinating drawstring, gives you a feminine outline and the midi-length for me at 5’10”, was ideal. I ordered the dress in a size 12. It is true to size and fit perfectly.
There are many ways this dress can be worn. With boots or shoes, a leather jacket or jumper around your shoulders. In the winter a jumper over the dress would give you another option. When choosing the dress, I made sure to check my accessories to see which would work well with the dress. A pale pink pashmina worked beautifully, as did a thin pearl necklace.

Did you know that Saint and Sofia have a range of stylish accessories? They are beautifully crafted from the finest materials. They have crossbody bags, phone bags, shoppers and totes, and for this season, a glorious Studded Nylon Backpack. There’s even a beautiful range of scarves, hats and jewellery.
I was immediately drawn to the Studded Nylon Backpack because so often I have more things to carry than will fit into a crossbody bag – my usual choice of city bag. And for travelling, nothing beats a backpack. I wanted something that I would be happy to use when I was working as well as travelling. The Studded Nylon Backpack exceeded my expectations. It’s roomy with a separate pocket to keep my iPad safe. Has an internal zip pocket to protect my wallet, a D ring so I can quickly locate my keys and a drawstring and strong clip to prevent anyone dipping into it from behind. The two external pockets are perfect for anything you need easy access to, like headphones.
The bag sits so comfortably on your shoulders with two adjustable straps and a useful handle on the top. It even has a strap to slip over the handle of your case, ideal for hands-free travelling.

Saint and Sofia are a brand that I feel completely comfortable with. Not too young and not too old, there are always pieces in each collection that I want to wear. I have been lucky enough to have been gifted some clothes in the past, but I have also purchased many more. And, it’s not only me that feels this way. My friend Michelle who has the blog Fifty & Fab, loves Saint and Sofia as well. We helped each other take photographs for our articles this month. After many photographs, a walk in Regents Park and a delicious lunch, we both agreed that we loved our dresses for style, comfort and fit.
