The practical lightweight jacket you need for every season!

If you got caught in the April showers or drenched in the early May monsoons, you’ll know just how important it is to have waterproof clothing.

As Billy Connolly once said, “There’s no such thing as bad weather – just the wrong clothing. So, get yourself a sexy raincoat and live a little.”

And that’s exactly what I did!

Regatta kindly asked me if I would like to try one of their outdoor jackets. I have a favourite Regatta jacket that was purchased a few years ago when I was visiting Tenby, in southwest Wales. The jacket is bright yellow and made me happy every time I wore it. It’s a size 10 and in all truth, a little too snug now. It currently resides in the boot of my car, in case of an emergency. I will certainly be seen on the motorway!

There is something so uplifting about yellow, and the Bayla Waterproof Rain Jacket in Maize Yellow, seems to cheer up the dreariest of days. And with the contrasting stripped hood lining, it sets off so many outfits.

What makes Regatta waterproof clothing different?

Regatta ensure that every item of waterproof clothing is tried and tested with their shower technology to make sure you remain dry every time you wear it. They are conscious of the environment and use recycled plastic to create their clothing. The Bayla Jacket I have was created in Isotex 5000 fabric. The 5000 means that the fabric can resist 5000mm of water pressure. I sincerely hope I never have to put it to the test! The Bayla Jacket was made using 3.5 500ml plastic bottles, which means that’s 3.5 less bottles going to landfill. I feel much happier knowing that my recycling is really being used in this way.

Regatta Waterproof Jackets are made from recycled plastic bottles and each jacket carries a label showing this

A lightweight jacket that’s waterproof, breathable and allows moisture to be wicked away is probably one of my most valuable clothing items. Regatta tape all the seams in their waterproof garments, this means that no water can get in through the tiny pinholes made when the fabric is stitched. I have exceptionally long arms and the sleeves are plenty long enough. And the strap and popper at the cuff means no water is going to slide back up my arm. A hood is so useful on those times you get caught in the rain without an umbrella, the Bayla hood can easily be tightened with the contrasting drawstrings.

Regatta Women’s jackets are true to size

I love the length of the Bayla Waterproof Rain Jacket as it covers my bottom and because I sized up, the Bayla Jacket can also be worn over a thick jumper or lightweight jacket. Talking of sizing, I did only need to order a size 12 as all Regatta jackets are true to size and a size 14 is actually a little too big – completely my mistake – but it’s not noticeable and makes the jacket extra comfy.

Take the Regatta Bayla Jacket everywhere with you!

I have already taken my Bayla Jacket on holiday, it certainly cheered up a dreary day in Vienna. It packs practically to nothing as it’s so lightweight and is ideal to carry with me when I’m commuting into the city for meetings. It folds up easily and doesn’t crease.

Regatta Bayla Jacket available in 14 different colours!

If yellow isn’t your thing, I know it’s not to everyone’s taste or colouring, then you have 13 different other colour schemes of Bayla Jacket to choose from.

So, if you are fed up being caught out in the rain, my advice would be to head straight to the Regatta website and choose a gorgeous lightweight, fully waterproof jacket that feels good on you and is kind to the environment.

And my other yellow jacket? That’s going to be recycled as I’m donating it to the charity shop for someone a little slimmer than me to enjoy.
