Smart Casual – have you ever wondered exactly what someone has in mind when they put that on an invitation. Are they thinking floaty summer dress, jeans and a jumper, or something more formal? Its baffled me for years, but I think I have cracked the dress code. Saint and Sofia have a range of beautifully made, stylish clothes that are both smart and casual.
The Saint and Sofia collection* of trousers, dresses, skirts, t-shirts, sweaters, and jackets can all be teamed up with their practical accessories and shoes to create timeless outfits. The garments are designed in London and created in Europe out of the finest fabrics. With a true fit, Saint and Sofia clothes are made to last, they are the wardrobe staples that you will reach for time and time again.
Saint and Sofia* make it their mission to not only design beautiful garments, but to also be sustainable and ethical in their approach to fashion. From the fully recyclable packaging that your clothes arrive in, to the pieces made from ECONYL, a Nylon yarn created from recycled plastic.
Fit and feel are two of the most important factors of Saint and Sofia clothes. They go to great lengths to ensure you get a perfect fit whether you are size 6 or size 22. Each garment is tweaked to flatter every woman regardless of her shape or size.
Each piece in the Saint and Sofia Collection is made from beautiful sustainable fabrics that are kind to the skin and the environment.
When I first discovered Saint and Sofia, they were called Zaggora. I immediately fell in love with the Apartment Pant*. I had been looking for ‘smart casual’ trousers. Trousers that were nicer than leggings but just as comfortable, that would look just as good in the evening as they did when I left home in the morning. And were not going to break the bank. Unfortunately, the Apartment Pant was not long enough for me. Since the name change, Saint and Sofia has extended the range and now offer several different trouser styles in a 34” leg length.
Saint and Sofia invited me to choose an outfit from their Spring/Summer 20 Collection. It was the end of May and although the days were warm, the evenings were cooler. I chose the Runway Pant and the Cable Knit Sweater because the pieces were so versatile and would be perfect to wear in all seasons and ideal for travelling.
The Runway Pant in Navy Leopard* £50.00 ticks all the boxes for me. Navy is so lovely for Spring and Summer and the leopard print detailing allows you to mix and match colours easily. The Ponte Di Roma fabric is amazing. You can literally take the trousers out of the bag when they arrive and put them straight on – I did for these photographs! They don’t crease and hang beautifully. They have a silky soft feel but have enough weight to stop them from clinging. The size 12 that I ordered fits perfectly and the 34” inside leg means I can wear the trousers with a heel or trainers.
The Cream Cable Knit Sweater* £70.00 works perfectly with the Navy Runway Pants. The size small (UK 10-12) is a generous loose fit. The Sweater is created from the finest, soft cotton and has really good length sleeves. This is important to me as I have really long arms!
The Cable Knit Sweater is so comfortable and works equally well worn alone or over a t-shirt. I can see this becoming a firm favourite.
Both pieces I was given are true to size and exactly as expected. The quality of both garments is exceptionally good, and I know I will be wearing this outfit for years to come.
In fact, I love these trousers so much that I have already placed an order for another pair. And a top!
I have definitely cracked the smart casual dress code for this summer.
