The topic of male skincare and grooming is hidden and overlooked by most men however the male beauty industry is massively growing.
I have to admit, many years ago, I followed the classic stereotype that ‘Real men don’t need to look after their hair and skin.’ Then once I delved into the rapidly growing world I realised what I had been missing out on! Male grooming doesn’t have to change your appearance; it is perfect for feeling and looking brighter and more confident in the skin you’re in.
We have therefore collated a ‘beginner’s kit’ for those interested in looking after and themselves in this fast-paced working age we live in. This is not an extensive list compared to the amount of products out there.

This light-weight gel formulated moisturiser is fast-absorbing and deeply moisturising whilst also being gentle on the skin. Alcohol free and enriched with Pure Chamomile and Aloe Vera it reduces skin sensitivity over time without leaving a greasy residue and is perfect for using with stubble.

This weightless powder boosts hair volume and creates height by texturizing each hair strand. Great for creating the current quiff hairstyle trends that are taking over the male hairstyling sector. Disappearing into the hair it is practically un-noticeable.

To combat dry straw-like hair I was extremely excited to stumble upon this oil. Enriched with Argan Oil it leaves the hair smooth and full of shine. It can be used before washing, during styling or even after styling. The best thing about this oil is the fact that it is one of the only oils that leaves the hair nourished without leaving it greasy.
Dove Men+ Care Clean Comfort Deodorant Stick – 50ml £2.89 available from Boots
This deodorant is alcohol free. Although it claims to have 48 hours of protection I have definitely found it to protect for 24 hours. It doesn’t leave stains on clothing and for your deodorant to last longer a tip is to pat it into the skin after application.
Chanel Bleu De Chanel Eau De Toilette Spray – 50ml £48 available from John Lewis
A definite masculine fragrance, this is my favourite fragrance of all time. It combines citrus fruity notes with a slight hint of dry cedar and one squirt lasts almost 48 hours. The magnetic top keeps the classic Chanel logo, constantly in the right direction.
