When I first discovered REN Clean Skincare, it was the Moroccan Rose range that I fell in love with. The Moroccan Rose Otto Bath Oil and Body Wash appeared on my birthday and Christmas wish list for years. Recently I’ve switched alliance and have been using the Atlantic Kelp and Magnesium bath and body range.
I’ve mentioned before how magnesium has changed my life, helped me to relax at night and switch off my brain. As soon as I heard that REN had formulated a range combining Atlantic Kelp, which is a rich source of magnesium and calcium, and magnesium, I was curious to see if the products would also have a calming effect.
I tested the 5 core Atlantic Kelp and Magnesium products, REN have since added a Hand Wash, Hand Cream and a limited-edition handbag size Hand Balm to the range. The products are formulated with Atlantic kelp extract and microalgae oil and are infused with a blend of anti-fatigue essential oils. The fragrance is designed to refresh and de-stress the mind and body, the combination of Sage, Rosemary, Cypress and Geranium is gorgeous, uplifting and relaxing at the same time.
Step into the shower and apply the exfoliating body balm and experience the fresh sea and magnesium (Epsom) salts, gently massage and polish to smooth the skin before applying water. This action helps with circulation and is particularly good after exercise, I found it particularly enjoyable during the cold winter months after a run.
Atlantic Kelp and Magnesium Anti-Fatigue Exfoliating Body Scrub 330ml £29.00
This is my favourite product from the range, beautifully fragranced it really is an indulgent bath treat. Skin feels hydrated and supple after use which is probably due to the Omega 6 and 9 microalgae oil it contains. The oil is non-greasy and doesn’t leave a film in the bath and you only need to use a very small amount. I’ve had some great night’s sleep after using the Bath Oil.

Since publishing this article, REN has changed the packaging for the Atlantic Kelp and Magnesium Body Wash. The bottle is now 100% recycled plastic and 20% is reclaimed ocean plastic.
This sulphate-free body wash is invigorating and moisturising, a little goes a long way and contains the essential oils blend with is suitable for men and women. Expect skin to feel soft and supple after use.
Atlantic Kelp and Magnesium Anti-Fatigue Body Wash 300ml £22.00
The lightweight body cream easily slips into the skin, remember to use it straight from the shower or bath, pat the skin dry and apply immediately. It replenishes skin with moisture and essential minerals. It’s particularly good after exercise and relaxing at night. The fragrance is unisex and doesn’t clash with any other scent you choose to wear.
Atlantic Kelp and Magnesium Anti-Fatigue Body Cream 200ml £22.00
Although this is one of the more expensive products in the range, a little really does go a long way, especially if you apply the oil straight after a bath or shower. The rich moisturising oil beautifully replenishes the skin and locks in moisture, with continual use and massage it does have a toning effect. It’s particularly good on legs and although I have only tested this during the winter, I imagine my legs would look great using the oil during the summer.
Atlantic Kelp and Microalgae Anti-Fatigue Toning Body Oil 100ml £35.00
The Atlantic Kelp and Magnesium range doesn’t have therapeutic doses of magnesium however, it does help to calm the mind and relax the body. It’s super-efficient at moisturising the skin and the fragrance is divine.
