Featured this month products from SkinCeuticals, DHC, Makeup Revolution and REN Skincare

Due to me going to Spain for a long weekend at the beginning of the month, and Nikki literally travelling all over the country training with some exciting new brands, we didn’t get to meet up to record the monthly review video until the middle of the month.

We recorded the video as usual and when we came to play it back we had lost the entire middle of the video, the camera had frozen and two products that Nikki and I were revisiting, one great new launch, and a budget buy concealer hadn’t been recorded.

This wouldn’t have been such a problem if we had time to re-record but we had to dash into town to attend the Face Awards with NYX at BAFTA.  I know tough job but someone has to do it!  Nikki is again off on her travels so this month’s video is slightly shorter than usual.  We will be including the missing products in next month’s review and hope that you will still enjoy seeing what we’ve been using.

So, what we do have this month is a sunscreen that Nikki has been using from SkinCeuticals.  Mineral Radiance UV Defense has an SPF50 and a tint which makes it perfect for using under makeup or instead of your usual foundation.  We can’t stress enough how important it is to use SPF throughout the year but especially during the summer, this lightweight formulation is perfect for this time of year.

DHC are a Japanese skincare company with a comprehensive range of innovative products which are very reasonably priced.  The Face Wash Powder is the perfect travelling companion as it’s light, a little goes a long way and as well as thoroughly washing your face, it helps to gently exfoliate.  Combine this with the Foaming Mesh and you get an abundance of washing foam for a tiny amount of powder.

Make Revolution has taken the beauty industry by storm with their excellent range of budget priced makeup.  Nikki has become a big fan of the fixing sprays especially in the warmer weather when your makeup tends to slip of your face.  Both the Pro Fix Fixing Spray and the Pro Fix Oil Control Fixing Spray are available from Superdrug and Make Revolution links below.

REN Skincare has extended its range of products to include a comprehensive selection of skincare to cater for every need.  Over the past month I have been using the Keep Young and Beautiful Firming and Smoothing Serum which has actually done what it promises and has smoothed my skin and it does look a little firmer.  The inclusion of hyaluronic acid keeps the skin feeling moisturised and the vitamin C helps with brightness and clarity.

Bio Retinoid Anti Ageing Cream manages to harness a retinoid that doesn’t irritate the skin, so you don’t get peeling or irritation. Surprisingly this cream is deeply moisturising and hydrating and can be used twice a day.  As with all retinoid/retinol products, make sure you use a high factor SPF every day and reapply throughout the day.
