How do I know that I can trust a clinic, are there any governing bodies? I’ve heard that some people aren’t qualified?

The PIP problem is an unfortunate event originating in manufacturing failure but also aggravated by an inefficient system of quality control. Breast augmentation is the most popular cosmetic procedure in the UK. In some studies women who underwent breast enlargement reported over 99% satisfaction, which is very high for a medical procedure. Women love the results as they feel more feminine and confident following augmentation. This is important because if safety issues are properly assessed then women would feel surer to proceed. It is interesting to see that from the approximately 40000 PIP cases in the UK the vast majority was undertaken by 3 cosmetic surgery clinics.

Therefore women realise that when a reputable Doctor uses a well-tested implant the risks are very low. It is important to always consult with a Doctor who women feel comfortable with and one who gives ample information about the surgery, the risks, and the implants that he uses.
