What can be done for sun damaged skin?

The signs of sun damaged skin manifest themselves as premature lines and wrinkles, pigmentation or sun spots and often broken veins. There are many procedures and products available now which slow down and reverse the signs of aging caused by sun damage. The most important advice I can give is to protect your skin from the sun from now on. Not only will this slow down further aging but also will protect you from various skin cancers.

Sun Protection Factors should be worn every day, come rain, come shine. They need to be at least SPF 50 for maximum benefits. Many skin products these days do contain SPF’s, but the SPF ratings are often to low and will not provide the maximum protection.
If the signs of sun damage are already present then there are some fantastic procedures to reduce these. Lines and wrinkles can be addressed using Botox and the various types of fillers available. Laser skin rejuvenation is fantastic for pigmentation and broken veins as well as revitalizing the complexion. Chemical peels come in various strengths and could also be a good option. You don’t necessarily have to go for a strong peel with a long downtime to get great results.
