There is now much evidence that Omega 3 fish oils have a beneficial effect on our bodies and our brains.

EPA DHA is an essential fatty acid which stands for docosahexaenoic acid and eicosapentaenoic acid. This essential fatty acid is an Omega 3 fat, which is found in cold water fish.  EPA DHA is highly unsaturated fat.  Polyunsaturated fats play a very important role with the function of our bodies.

Omega 3 Oils are beneficial for:

Immune system
Heart health
Stress and anxiety
Lower cholesterol
Bipolar disorder
Schizophrenia
Concentration
Memory
Depression and low moods
Skin condition

Omega 3 feeds the body essential nutrients which in turn replenish the vital essential fatty acids our bodies need to maintain balance.

Low levels of EPA are associated with the slowing of brain activity, owing to a hardening of the phospholipid layers, which slow cell signalling.  This decreased communication between brain cells can lead to symptoms of depression.

Taking EPA can reverse this harmful process by increasing the amount of phospholipids in brain-cell membranes and the membrane fluidity. This has a positive effect on neurotransmitters and enhances electrical messaging in the brain.

To reap the benefits of taking fish oils the dosage and quality of the product is essential.  The industry standard is only 12% EPA and 18% DHA.  This isn’t high enough to achieve the results given in the recent research, which was based on 90% concentration.  90% is a pharmaceutical level.

If the concentration is too low you could be taking handfuls of low grade fish oils which will have little or no effect.  It’s also worth taking into consideration how many capsules you need to take to achieve the correct dosage.  Often a product which appears to be inexpensive is actually expensive when taken in the correct dosage.

PurePharma produce the freshest, purest and most potent fish oil possible.

They achieve this by:

1. Using the whole body of small deep sea fish
2. Molecularly distilling the oil twice to achieve ultra-high concentration and purity
3. Cold filtrating the oil as a final purification step to gently remove all contaminants
4. Carefully managing heat, light and oxygen exposure throughout production to ensure the absence of oxidation

PurePharma Omega O3 is recommended and used by athletes who are looking for the purest quality and optimum dose oil.  The capsules are black to prevent sun damage and ensure freshness, and have a pleasant lemon flavour.

The recommended dose of three tablets per day 2000mg will give you minimum of 74% of Omega 3 fatty acids.

This product is now called Puori Omega 3 Fish Oil* 120 capsules £26.77 available from Amazon
