Donna Clitheroe, Head of Makeup for ITV shares her top tips

Wearing a face mask has become the new normal. As we are required to slip on a mask several times a day, what makeup should we apply? We asked Donna Clitheroe, Head of Makeup for ITV and the founder of Donna May Makeup.

Longwear Base Products

I’m afraid we are going to have to leave the flossy, dewy products on the shelf for a while. To keep your make-up transfer proof you will need foundation, concealers and powders that are labelled ‘longer stay all day’ double wear and long lasting and don’t forget a strong setting spray.

Concealer

Use sparingly on the areas that are seen above the mask. Find a hydrating concealer so that your product doesn’t sit in any lines which will only emphasis them!

Brows

Brows are going to be super important and even if you choose not to colour them making sure your brows are plucked, trimmed and combed through gives them a great head start.

Using an all in one brow kit like Donna May London Precision Brow Kit £20 – leaves you no excuse not to keep them in check.

Eyeliner

Either a nice waterproof Kohl Pencil or Liquid Eyeliner will look fab with just mascara. Run it along as close as possible to your lash line, thickening the line towards the outer edges and slightly taking the tip upwards to create that gorgeous cat eye effect – practice makes perfect with this one. Whilst all this change is happening why don’t you try and experiment with some coloured eyeliners – these can look amazing.

Eyeshadow

Get those pallets out as your eyes are definitely going to be your main focal point so experiment away and perfect your smokey eye look. That old saying ‘It’s all in the eyes’ has never been truer so make sure you are shinning the brightest!
