If like me, you’re a ‘get home – bra off’ type of person, the underwear dilemma has become real during this lockdown period. We could realistically spend every day in our sports bras but some days it’s important to get dressed – and when we do, it’s sometimes good to wear something pretty beneath which is also known to help our psyche.
If you’re a DD+ you’ll know what I’m talking about when I say that finding bras that are comfortable, actually fit and are pretty – is a hard task. But just pre-lockdown, I stumbled into John Lewis and rediscovered Maison Lejaby. It is one of those lingerie brands that specialises in proper fit, particularly for the larger bust, is comfortable to wear while managing to still use delicate fabrics and lace and therefore look pretty – and dare I say it – sexy. There are a few other brands that do this quite well, American brand Wacoal has some great styles, and in recent years M&S has also really stepped up its DD+ offering with a dedicated collection.
So back to Maison Lejaby. It’s not the cheapest, but if you’re looking for that comfort factor with something that feels sexy and luxurious – I highly recommend it. I have also found that the cup sizes are generous, so you are almost guaranteed a good fit rather than getting the quadruple boob overhang we all know and hate.
I asked the team at Maison Lejaby if they could share with us some of their fitting tips so that if you’re in need of a new bra – and up to trying some home shopping right now – you might find this helpful: Not sure what happens with returns but…
The Maison Lejaby SIN* underwired bra is an interweaving of mesh and floral lace, all scooped up to look like patterns made directly on your skin. Available from John Lewis
