This month I’m delighted to welcome back Nikki Taylor to Fighting Fifty.  As you may know Nikki is our Beauty Expert, but due to work commitments she hasn’t been free to film our Beauty Reviews for a few months.

Sadly, you can’t smell the gorgeous Italian Lemon candle that we light in the video but do check out Tutti London.  Their range of soy wax candles will brighten any room and make the most welcome gift.  Prices from £24.00

The products featured in the video are:

Verso Enzyme Peel

Nikki kicks us off with a brand that she has worked with for some time.  The Enzyme Peel is the latest addition to the range.  It uses both alpha and poly hydroxy acids to gently exfoliate, brighten and rejuvenate skin.  The Peel unblocks pores and accelerates cell renewal, leaving skin smooth and radiant.  Add to this, the Peel will boost collagen production and minimise fine lines and wrinkles.

Verso Enzyme Peel 50ml £80.00 available from Effortless Skin

REN AHA Smart Renewal Body Serum

Yet another great launch from REN!  The AHA Smart Renewal Serum is a light textured, citrusy scented exfoliator which uses lactic acid and xylitol to smooth the skin and probiotics to boost skin’s defence barrier.  Skin feels more hydrated and looks and feels better after just one use.  Easily one of the best body treatments I’ve used.

REN AHA Smart Renewal Body Serum 200ml £35.00 available from REN Clean Skincare

The Ordinary Buffet + Copper Peptides 1%

We were particularly interested in looking at Buffet with Copper Peptides having been long term fans of NIOD Copper Amino Isolate Serum CAIS.  In the video we explain the differences between the two products and also explain that we had only just received the product and haven’t had a chance to try it yet.  We will be giving an update next month when we have given it a good trial.  This formulation contains Matrixyl 3000, Syn-ake and Copper Peptides.

The Ordinary Buffet +Copper Peptides 1% 30ml £28.90 available from Deciem

Murad Rapid Age Spot Correcting Serum

For many years Dr Murad and his team has worked hard to match the formulation of their best-selling product in the States for removing pigmentation and age spots.  Hydroquinone found in the American product, is banned in Europe, but Murad have formulated this new serum to work equally as well and just as fast.

Using NHP3 technology which combines Niacinamide, Hexylresorcinol and Plankton Extract, this lightweight serum also contains vitamin C and light reflecting pearls, to rapidly improve the appearance of skin tone.

I never normally talk about products without trying them for at least a month but, challenged by Ewa at Social Beautify, I reported back after only one week.  The serum had already started to breakdown the patch of pigmentation on my check and neck.  Best of all my skin overall looked brighter, fresher and more radiant.  So, this product really does live up to its claims.

Murad Rapid Age Spot Correcting Serum 30ml £70.00 available from Lookfantastic

The perfect SPF to use with the Rapid Age Spot Correcting Serum is Murad City Skin Age Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50 £55.00 available from Lookfantastic

Chanel Le Beiges

As soon as the Chanel counters had been stocked with the Le Beiges range Nikki was there trying it out.  The two products that she choose were the Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Stick in Shade No25 and the Healthy Glow Lip Balm in shade Deep.  Both products are sheer and give you that healthy look we all crave.

Chanel Le Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Stick 8g £35.00 available from Boots

Chanel Le Beiges Healthy Glow Lip Balm £31.00 available from Boots

No7 Laboratories Line Correcting Booster Serum

Following on from the success of Protect and Perfect, No7 has launched the first product under the No7 Laboratories range.  The Line Correcting Booster Serum is intended to be used on specific problem areas, such as crow’s feet, forehead lines.  The formulation contains Matrixyl 3000+ in 7 times the concentration of Protect and Perfect.  Expect the serum to act quickly, I saw a difference in the line between my eyebrows within a few days.

No7 Laboratories Line Correcting Booster Serum 15ml £38.00 available from Boots

Beauty Pie

Nikki is a Beauty Pie member and has been exploring the Japanfusion range.  The Japanfusion Pure Transforming Cleanser is an antioxidant rich gel-to-oil-to-milk cleanser which rapidly dissolves makeup and SPF leaving skin ultra-clean.  Follow with the Japanfusion Hydra Prep Lotion this micro-molecular hydrating prep tonic is infused with antioxidants and is the first step to super-skin moisture.

Bioderma Photoderm Max SPF 50+ Tinted Aqua Fluid

When the weather warms up and the sun shines I tend to drop foundation and tinted moisturisers for a tinted SPF.  I personally don’t believe the SPF included in makeup is enough to protect your skin in the same way a specific sun protection product does.  I’ve been using Bioderma Photoderm tinted aquafluid which is a dry touch formulation that covers well and has a slightly matte finish.  So, no white hue or shinny skin.  It’s water resistant (not the same as waterproof!) and very good for sensitive skin.  Available in two colours, light and golden.  Outstanding value for money as all Bioderma products are.

Bioderma Photoderm Max SPF 50+ Tinted Aqua Fluid 40ml £13.20 available from Lookfantastic
