Very few women go through life without experiencing a bladder infection or cystitis

Once known as the honeymoon disease, this debilitating condition affects up to 2 million women each year.  Up to 20% go on to have reoccurring episodes after their initial treatment.

Menopause can be a contributory factor; hormonal changes bring about a variety of uncomfortable symptoms in women.  These include increased dryness in skin and linings of organs such as the bladder; reduction in muscle tone of the pelvic floor leading to a change of the urethral position and a change in the composition of body fluids.  These are all factors that make women more prone to the misery of urinary tract infections.

Furthermore, other contributing factors, which were well controlled before menopause, may become less manageable.  These include increase in body weight, decrease in taking regular exercise, and a more sedentary lifestyle. Equally important is growing divorce rates and the fact that many women in their 50s and beyond are now embarking on new sexual relationships.

As a result it is not unusual for up to 50% of women to suffer from cystitis for the first time during the menopause.  Many of these go on to develop a chronic problem that can make daily life a misery.

Although antibiotics can clear the initial infection, they are not a permanent solution to an on-going problem.

Cysticlean is a thoroughly researched cranberry supplement containing 118mg of type A PAC (proanthocyanidins) from the North American cranberry – the highest level of active ingredient currently available in the UK.

High levels of type A PAC are clinically proven to decrease the adherence of bacteria to the bladder wall, helping to reduce recurrent urinary tract issues.

E. coli is a strain of bacterium known to cause food poisoning, once in the body it’s hard to eradicate, resulting in repeated urinary infections. Cysticlean has been proven to reduce the adherence of E. coli.

Over 75,000 women throughout Europe have been helped by taking just one of these food product tablets each day. Cysticlean needs to be taken continually for 3-6 months to help control recurrent urinary health issues.
