This month we feature NIOD, Dr Dennis Gross, The Ordinary, Balance Me, Vincent Longo, Urban Decay, Darphin and Yardley London

No Beauty Review Video would be complete without a launch from Deciem.  This month sees not only a new product launch from NIOD but also a whole new brand from Deciem, The Ordinary.  If you had thought that NIOD was pretty special and changed the way we look at skincare then this new brand is set to send alarms bells ringing throughout the beauty industry.  The Ordinary is a range of targeted products with proven actives and an extremely low price point.  It wasn’t a surprise that Nikki was one of the first to order and trial the new products which I am sure we will be talking more about in the future.

Over the summer I have been using a range of products from Dr Dennis Gross.  You may remember that Nikki reviewed the Alpha Beta Daily Peel in our video here.  The Ferulic+ Retinol range including the Ferulic + Retinol Triple Concentrate Eye Serum, Fortifying Neck Emulsion and Anti-Aging Moisturiser work to plump and hydrate the skin while fighting lines and wrinkles.  The results have been impressive, my skin looks better at the end of the summer than it did at the start, clearer and smoother and definitely doesn’t look dehydrated.  Both ferulic and retinol are proven ingredients that do work well on skin post 50.  The products are expensive but very effective and I believe an investment worth making.

Balance Me are celebrating their 10th birthday!  If you haven’t explored their products you really should.  Simply put, they do their job with a minimum of fuss.  There is no hype or hard sell, they have high quality ingredients beautifully packaged and they work.  The Restore and Replenish Overnight Repair Mask is the perfect product for the end of summer.  Boosting collagen and rehydrating skin using clever ingredients such as Aurealis which is derived from bitter orange flowers, day moist, which is a complex of natural plant actives and a tri-peptide chain of amino acids which trick the skin into producing more collagen.  Twice a week or alternate night’s, use this mask before bed and then leave on the skin overnight, wake up to refresher younger looking skin what could be better?

The award winning makeup range from Vincent Longo is about to hit the UK.  Famed for the Water Canvas Foundation, a cream to powder formulation which is buildable, and beautiful highly pigmented eyeshadows, this range is going to be a firm favourite at Fighting Fifty.  Nikki has been using the products ahead of the launch on Cult Beauty mid-September and loves them.

We have often have emails from readers experiencing rosacea and high colour during the menopause.  Annoyingly this transition wreaks havoc with your skin and the redness can be hard to disguise under makeup.  Urban Decay has recently launched Naked Skin Colour Correcting Fluid in 5 colours to address these problems.  We have tested the green and yellow fluids and found them to be very effective with a great texture which sits well under makeup.

Darphin is a brand that Nikki often recommends. The formulations are perfect to rehydrate and rebuild stressed ageing skin.  The 8 Flower Nectar and Nectar Oil Cream not only smells divine they also work to rejuvenate and renew skin.  Again an investment product but as you only use a tiny amount they should last a long time.

Yardley London is a brand that I had long since forgotten.  They are known for their single English flower fragrances such as Rose, Bluebell, Lavender and Lily of the Valley.  They have recently added English Dahlia to the collection and their range of fragranced products really can’t be beaten on price.  Using excellent quality ingredients the range of products includes Eau de Toilette, body sprays, body lotions and hand creams.  I’ve been using the Moisturising Fragrance Body Mist which is the ideal spray to use after a bath; it leaves skin soft and delicately fragranced at an extremely affordable price.  Keep a note of the Yardley website as their products make perfect stocking fillers.

I hope you enjoy watching this month’s video, which is slightly longer than usual because as always there is so much we want to tell you about.  If you have any questions please post these below here or the YouTube video and we will answer them.
