Six Fighting Fifty readers review this product formulated to address sensitive and stressed skin

Following my interviews with Claudia Fallah on our YouTube channel, I sent six readers the Claudia Fallah Intensive Repair Crème to review.

Claudia Fallah Intensive Repair Crème is an intensely nourishing day and night crème that can instantly rehydrate and comfort stressed or sensitive skin.  The crème helps to promote cell regeneration giving immediate moisture to sensitive, dehydrated or prematurely aged skin.

I’m 49, eat well, love well, don’t smoke and only drink in moderation.  I do however have a very stressful lifestyle – I work 14 hours 5 days a week and about 6 hours a day at the weekend.  I often forget to cleanse at the end of the day as I’m so tired.  Before starting this cream I had done 6 weeks of anti-biotics, prescribed by a dermatologist, to try and get rid of some little spots/bumps on my face and redness around the cheek area, near the ear.  The anti-biotics didn’t work.  I had also previously tried steroid cream.  I had stressed skin!!

This cream however was transformative.  The redness went after a week and the bumps/spots have decreased in size and occasionally even disappear. It was very soothing and my makeup was easy to apply over the top. I also had a small rash on my chest, I used the cream on this too, and the rash disappeared.

I am very low maintenance and usually don’t think about moisturizer at all – although I do use it. My skin is quite dry and this was very good at combatting the dryness.  Thank you for letting me try this, I will definitely continue on the cream – where do I buy it?  Intensive Repair Crème can be purchased from Claudia Fallah

I have what you might call a “challenging” complexion; it’s been my Achilles Heel all my life.  And the menopause certainly hasn’t helped.  It’s sensitive, prone to eczema and the latest affliction “Rosacea”.  So, Claudia Fallah Intensive Repair Crème had quite a test!

Because of issues associated with extremely sensitive skin I have to be careful what I use, the wrong ingredient can result in quite a severe reaction.  Therefore I researched Claudia Fallah and comforted by her approach to “avoiding skin-unfriendly ingredients” and gave it go, here’s my experience…

My rosacea is kept under-control with regular laser treatments, which provides amazing results but does leave the skin red, sore and in-need of intense hydration for a day or two.  On my last session I took the Intensive Repair Crème and applied directly after the treatment.  It was amazing, immediately calmed and soothed, without any irritation and I continued to use twice daily for the follow week.  I usually experience minor swelling after a laser treatment but that seemed less pronounced this time, I can’t conclusively say that’s due to the application of Intense Repair Crème but it was enough to convince me to continue using it.

A little goes a long way; two pumps are sufficient for a complete facial application.  I love the texture of my skin after applying, which can only be described as soft and rubbery (springy, supple).  Although an intense hydrating cream it’s not too rich, so absorbs into the skin without the usual sticky residue. I did return to my lighter day moisturiser for everyday use once my skin had recovered and no-longer required the extra hydration.  But Intense Repair Crème will definitely remain in my skin-care arsenal for rosacea flares up, post laser treatment and the times my skin is in need of extra TLC.  I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an effective hydrating cream for sensitive and problematic skin.

I must say I have been very impressed with the crème.  Firstly, the smell is divine – it makes me feel very calm just breathing it in, so I have made sure that when I use it I treat it as more than just applying a moisturiser and more as a small space of time for myself to breathe deeply, relax and feel the full benefits.

I began by applying it twice a day but after a few days reverted to my usual prescription cream (an anti-microbial emollient) in the mornings, and using the Intensive Repair Crème at night after cleansing.  Some nights I would cleanse with the hot cloth method, others just with a facial wipe, and others with a foaming cleanser – this is my usual practice.  I have used it six nights out of seven, as I always like to have a small break in any skincare routine I adopt.

I have found that using the crème has made my skin softer, and that is looks plumper and has eased the appearance of fine lines around my upper cheek bones and eyes.  I have not reacted badly to it, as I have done to other non-prescription skincare.  It has not, of course ‘cured’ my psoriasis or rosacea, and I would not have expected it to.  However, the redness around my nose and cheeks has certainly been less vivid – and the skin itself is smoother with fewer dry patches or small pimples.  I have not had any breakouts, or noticed any increase in blackheads or whiteheads, or any greasiness – this has sometimes been a problem for me with other rich creams.

As a result of the improved appearance of my skin, I have found that my foundation goes on much better, and looks smoother and more natural.  I would definitely recommend the Claudia Fallah cream, and thank you for the chance to try it.

Firstly I like the packaging as it’s easy to see when you need to re-order.  It’s also very easy to dispense.  There is no aroma as such but this is not in any way off putting if you like a pretty smelling product.

The texture is nice and creamy making it a pleasure to use, and you don’t need to use much as a little goes a long way which is great for ‘ladies on a budget’.  I used the crème both morning and night with no adverse effects at all.  A couple of days after it arrived I ran out of eye cream so decided to take the plunge and use it as my eye cream as well. (I know that a separate eye cream should be uses as the skin texture is much thinner in this area).  It didn’t make my eyes puffy or ‘smart’ at all; actually it has made my fine lines’ finer’ So a happy’ bunny’ I am..!

I also tested the product over a serum and oil and am happy to report there was no ‘Roll Off’ which can annoyingly happen with some creams.  I like that the product is natural and am overall happy with the results.  Redness was never compromised and my skin was kept calm through exercise, hot showers/baths, cold winds etc…

To sum up my skin is more even toned and smoother and has been complemented on by my daughter who said my skin was looking more brighter and healthy.  I would use this cream again and recommend it to others with sensitive skin.

My skin is naturally dry.  I have psoriasis on my elbows and knees and on my face I tend to have dry patches down both sides of my nose and in between my eyebrows.  I don’t wear make up as I don’t like the feel of it on my skin, so when I use a moisturiser I don’t like one that looks shiny and greasy on my face.

When I first squirted some of the Claudia Fallah product onto my hand I noticed immediately how rich and creamy it was.  I thought that it was going to be greasy.  I was wrong though.  Once I had applied it, it absorbed very quickly and didn’t leave any stickiness or greasiness.  My job involves being in an office part of the time and out visiting food businesses the rest of the time.  My skin is, therefore, subjected to central heating in the office and a wide variety of environments in the food businesses, from freezing cold butchers and mobile burger vans to takeaways which have lots of greasy fumes and steam from the cooking.

During the trial I also did some work which involved delivering leaflets for another department and I spent one day out in snow, sleet and rain and another out in glorious sunshine.  During this time the Claudia Fallah cream kept my face hydrated and protected from the elements.  I can’t honestly say that I have noticed difference with any wrinkles etc as these are due to the natural ageing process of the skin and can’t really be reversed; however, I have noticed that my skin feels less dry.  I also like the subtle fragrance of the product.  It reminds me of a visit to a local spa – a clean, fresh fragrance.  There was one occasion when I rubbed my eye and some of the Claudia Fallah cream must have gone in as my eye was a bit sore for a minute or two, but this experience was nothing like I’d had with other creams which caused my eyes to sting for hours.  Overall, I was pleased with the Claudia Fallah cream but as it’s so expensive I don’t think I’ll be able to carry on buying it once I have used up this bottle.

I regret to tell you that I did not have a great experience with this product.  For two weeks after I got it I used it both morning and night but towards the end of this time my skin was extremely sore and itchy so I started back on my usual night cream (Guerlain Aqua Serum Nuit) and used the Claudia Fallah only during the day, however the irritation did not diminish.  I have now gone back to using my own Guerlain skincare regime.

I did like the appearance of the product.  The pump action bottle was good and it smoothed into my skin well.  However I do not feel that it provided any skincare benefits similar to products that I have used over the past few years: Liz Earle, Guerlain, Clinique or REN mostly.  It did not reduce the redness in my skin and it did not act as a good base for make up.
